Accommodation
River Lodge: Nestled on the banks of the Bushmans River, this 5-star quality Lodge comprises 10 superbly appointed thatched suites. The Lodge, which overhangs the river, offers exclusivity, comfort and spectacular views and apart from wonderful game viewing, unique features include excellent river fishing and daily boat trips to the Kenton beaches.
Ukhozi Lodge: A luxury Lodge which accommodates 20 guests in 10 superbly appointed suites, each with own plunge pool, with panoramic views from private viewing decks. The Lodge boasts unique African-style lounges, dining area and boma with an outdoor pool. Here guests can unwind in front of warm log fires, enjoy sumptuous cuisine or simply share experiences of the African bush. Children over 10 years are welcome.
Main Lodge: Our family friendly Kariega Lodge comprises luxurious and spacious log chalets, all en-suite with their own viewing decks and some with private pools. Here you can enjoy complete privacy, spectacular views and intimate contact with nature. Children of all ages are welcome.
The Homestead: Is a private lodge set in a remote part of the reserve with spectacular views. The Homestead is perfect for a group or family of up to 10 persons, wishing to enjoy a unique safari experience tailored to their own needs.
Activities
Morning and evening game drives in open vehicles with experienced rangers, where you will enjoy wonderful sightings of lion, elephant, buffalo, rhino, hippo, giraffe, zebra and numerous antelope species. During one of your morning game drives, you will enjoy a memorable cruise down the Kariega River on the “Kariega Queen” and enjoy the tranquility of nature, whilst viewing the wonderful birdlife and game along the river. For hiking enthusiasts, guided bush walks with your Ranger are a must amongst more than 25 species of game and wonderful birdlife. Take a leisurely paddle down the Kariega River and spot our nesting Fish Eagles. This is a haven for fly fishermen. Enjoy tranquil and picturesque surroundings whilst fishing for your prize in the well stocked Kariega River.
(Bring own fishing equipment). For water-babies or those just wanting to cool off from the hot African sun, dive into the river and revel in the beautiful river pools surrounded by pristine forests. For the less adventurous, relax at the sun-splashed communal pools.
Wildlife
Sanctuary to abundant game and wildlife such as lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, rhino, hippo, hyena, giraffe, zebra, eland, wildebeest, waterbuck and a variety of antelope, as well as a myriad of bird species, including nesting Martial, Crowned and Fish Eagles.

Kariega is situated 141 kms (approximately 80 minutes drive) from Port Elizabeth (Nelson Mandela Bay) and 10 minutes from the beaches of Kenton-on-Sea.
